The Factory
At the end of the tour, observe the production* and discover the secrets of gingerbread making through the windows of the oldest gingerbread house in Alsace. Information panels and explanatory supports will guide you throughout the production process. A tasting basket will allow you to sample a selection of our products. *According to the production schedule ; consult us. Closed on weekends.
The Gingerbread Workshop
Decorate your gingerbread and take it home with you! At the entrance, you will be offered a gingerbread in the shape of Mannele. Personalize it with icing and colorful dragees in our dedicated space and then take it home as a souvenir. No minimum age required: parents can decorate for the youngest ones. Plan about 10 extra minutes for this activity.
The Saga of the Palace
A Palace dedicated to gingerbread: this is the realization of a passion that has made the reputation of the House of Fortwenger for over 250 years. For the Risch family, the love of good gingerbread is a family affair, and the promotion of the House of Fortwenger a mission that has involved every member of the family for 3 generations. The "Mannele" accompanies visitors throughout this playful and interactive space: who better than this little gingerbread man to embody all the facets of this specialty? Hero of a very popular Anglo-Saxon tale, "The Gingerbread Man," he also appeared in the movie Shrek. In Alsace, this character is well known, as brioche is made in his image to celebrate Saint Nicolas Day.

The Gingerbread Palace is open every day from mid-February to early January. We are closed on December 25th and January 1st.
